Static

Anyone have problems with hearing static from time to time when playing a project? It is not always there and not always in the same place, so I think it some kind of buffer overload or something. The project in question has 18 vocal tracks plus some intense VIs—Hollywood Strings, in particular. I am running 64-bit, i7 (8 core) with 12 GB RAM.

    What is your audio interface?

When I had a Delta 1010 that was in the process of dying this would happen, eventually it was useless and had to be replaced.

Here are some things it can be. I would trouble shoot each one and check them off to rule them out:

    You may be clipping
You may have an IRQ conflict
You may have sound card driver issues
    You may have driver issues
You may have a Firewire chipset issue
