Slate Digital FG-x and iLok2 compatibility issues with Sonar 8.5 running on Windows 7

Just spent 1 1/2 hours on the phone with the good people at Slate Digital trying to get their FG-x plug-in to show up in Sonar 8.5 VST menu.
They concluded it was a compatibility issue between Sonar, Windows 7 and the new iLok2.

They gave up and are refunding my money.  (after suggesting I switch to a different DAW).
Something about iLok2 and Sonar ain't happening.

Anyboy else run into that?  I see some of you using the FG-X with X1.  Are you using the iLok2?
Aarrgh.
Mark.

It takes one to know one, and vice versa.

I bought FG-X a couple of weeks ago but just now installed it today. I also use Slate VCC.

Install went without a hitch as has the operation of FG-X.

    Win 7
    SONAR 8.5.3
    i7 2600 16gigs RAM
    iLok2

Don't have clue what your issue might be but wanted to let you know it will work with everything you listed in your post.

Just a guess, did you leave the box checked to install 64 bit version? Re-scan plugins?

    Good luck.

    Issue resolved, kinda.
Apparently Windows 7 was not allowing the iLok2 driver to load thus giving Initialization Errors for Slate FG-X everytime Sonar loaded.
iLok (paceap.com) support repaired it after 5 visits and 6 hours later.
It works now except for the fact that Sonar crashes whenever I try to close the FG-X plug-in.
It's always gotta to be something.

I had an issue after the latest update for the FG-X; not recognizing the iLok.
But ONLY with the FG-X; Waves and Softube were working perfectly.
I followed the Slate instructions for deleting, then re-installing the iLok driver.
    All good now.
I've never had an issue with the FG-X when closing, only when trying to save presets.
This all in X1, I'll try loading the FG-X in 8.5 and have a look see.
Interesting that they would suggest a different DAW, my guess is that the Slate stuff is the problem, not Cakewalk...

Sonar X1 PC: X64 Win 7 8gigs ram dual processors.. I love this plug and have not had a problem at all. Sorry to hear of your issues. I certainly have had mine since X1 upgrade but not with FG-X plugin. I highly recommend you keep at it; the plug is most definitely worth it IMO. Mark
