Did you notice at the toss up, the Greek skipper caught the coin and ran off the field with it

To continue with the awful Greece/economy jokes...Greece has had to stop exporting houmous and taramasalata. Apparently there's a double-dip recession..."

A Part II Primer to The Big Fat Greek Economic Meltdown When in the 2002 heater hit movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding the father of the bride Gus Portokalos (adroitly played by Michael Constantine) is confronted with any kind of skin ailment, he pans, "Put some Windex." Somehow that humorous expression strikes me as somberly befitting for this week’s economic developments in Europe where its leaders agreed on a so-called “Windex-Fix” that would impose steep losses on investors holding troubled Greek bonds while simultaneously boosting the effectiveness of the region’s bailout fund. Michael Constantine / My Big Fat Greek Wedding

It is a slow day on the small Greek Island of Mykonos, and with all the negative publicity Greece has been getting lately, the streets are deserted. Times are tough, everyone is in debt, and the government is living on credit. A rich tourist visiting the island drives through town, stops at a local hotel, and lays a $100 bill on the desk saying he wants to inspect the rooms upstairs to pick one for the night. As soon as he walks upstairs, the hotel owner grabs the bill and runs next door to pay his debt to the local taverna. The taverna owner takes the $100 and runs down the street to retire his debt to the goat farmer. The goat farmer takes the $100 and heads off to pay his bill to his feed supplier at the Farmer's Co-op. The guy at the Farmer's Co-op takes the $100 and runs to pay his debt to the local prostitute, who has also been facing hard times due to tourist numbers down, and government officials losing their expense allowance, and has had to offer her "services" on credit to the locals. The hooker on receipt of the $100 rushes to the hotel and pays off her room bill with the hotel owner. The hotel proprietor then places the $100 back on the counter so the rich traveller will not suspect anything. At that moment the traveller comes down the stairs, states that the rooms are not satisfactory, picks up the $100 bill and leaves town. No one produced anything. No one earned anything.and no taxes were paid however, the whole town is for the moment out of debt and happily going about chalking-up on credit once again.... And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how Greekenomics works.

Perhaps the Greeks can get Germany to give them some points... I had it on in the background but I was in the other room. Germany plays again tomorrow, they play The Netherlands. Denmark VS Portugal first. I don't know enough about it to predict anything but Germany looked pretty good the other day and Russia seems good. J

I hope for a draw tonight in the Germany - Holland match. It is the safest for me, considering my move from Holland to Germany next month. Though I think the Germans will beat the Dutch with ease. Let's say 3-1? Not that I'll be watching: I have band practice tonight. One has to set priorities in life.

In a new UEFA ruling, I hear they're going to let France players use their hands from the beginning of the tournament.

Bristol_Jonesey For anyone interested, the Czech Republic are 2-0 over Greece after 5 minutes. Seems their problems aren't limited to economics..... Being European, I can relate to this comment. Being European, I also do not think that it is funny ... however, the economic issues in those countries are more linked to the Euro than they are internal ... the Euro was the biggest scam for the rich to get richer and then steal everything they can from those people ... in the old days, they used armies or a religion based in Rome of some sort, but nowadays? ... they use currencies and make sure that you get raped as well. I figure the English or the Americans will move the statues and the monuments from Greece to London or Las Vegas so people can actually see them instead of wasting money on a long flight and really bad hotels and what not! Spain's situation was a case of a middle class taking advantage of their freedoms 40 years ago ... and the country not being intelligent enough, or geverned well enough to know that you can not rape the country/government like the Spaniards used to in the old days! But it is in their nature, isn't it? Like the one about the scorpion, is it its fault that it is poisonous?
As a wise Guy once stated from his holy chapala ... none of the hits, none of the time ... prevents you from becoming just another turkey in the middle of all the other turkeys!
