Overture: Too Many Hammers
Hello Again! I'm on a long journey towards being able to create orchestrations on my computer that sound believable. I'm pretty happy with this piece, and about 85% happy with how the "orchestra" sounds. I used LASS for the strings, Synful for the french horns, and Garritan pocket orchestra for the other brass and woodwinds. I used ValhallaRoom for the rever. Sounds good to me. Although I was paying more attention to the composing, which I think is good, more than to the authenticity of the instrument sounds.
One thing though, I don't know what kind of mastering, if any, you've done on it. But, the panning and everything sounds really cool, but the overall sound was a little flat. Maybe, it's just Soundcloud, but it seemed things could be a little brighter or a little more sparkle. That's the only criticism I have, but, very nice job overall.

This is a very nice piece of music. It's getting difficult to hear the differences between a real orchestra and samples these days. A good programmer makes it even more difficult. I commend you on this piece.

Three minutes of artificial fake sounding music that goes nowhere. However, to the untrained ear it might sound real. If you listen to the real thing a lot and then you hear something like this, it really really pops out at you as artificial. The sounds are there but the tonal structures from techniques are missing. On the bright side most people won't be able to tell the difference and will think it's authentic or impressive.

Ok first ignore dickhead pete. He is a low life troll.
Ok I like the composition, it sounds very film like, very late romantic era style.
The sounds are not that bad.
You should give Notion 3 a go, I think it is only 200 or 300 bucks. I use that and the 10 gig sound library is awsome.
But there is nothing wrong with the sounds you have.

Thanks, Ben. Actually, I'm very happy with the LASS library for the strings, and I'm still learning to get the most of of it. I do likely need to update my brass and winds sounds.

This works quite well, it does sound a little flat but MP3s will do that to anything. Thanks for sharing.
