Is that your composition Scotty or did you just press the demo button ? Sounds great either way. There are certainly some very tasty workstations out there now what with this, the Fantom G8 and the Kronos.

I just hit the play button. It was quite easy actually. LOL
Yes, this thing sounds amazing for sure! I can cheat like all of you midi guys now! I even like the strings samples in this! (Well, most of them anyway. The fiddle patch still sounds like an oboe)

Holy crap that sounds nice. I'm gonna have to look into that myself.

I'm lovin' it! It came with a 10th Anniversary Special Pack, which includes a 512-MB Flash Board and some sound libraries including Gen 16 Acoustic Cymbal samples and Audio and midi groove tracks by Peter Michael Escovedo, Michael White and Dave DiCenso. It also came with a handy dandy flip-fold Yamaha thumb drivefor loading samples. I haven't taken the time to install it yet. Maybe I can trade in the 512MB for a 4GB board.

I bought a new XS8 when they first came out in '07... I absolutely loved the action, sounds and and performance features, but I sold it soon after, beause of its awful inhuman interface... I just couldn't warm up to it...

I wasn't a big fan of the XS8 interface either.. sold it the week the XF8 came out and got that.  They re-worked the converters amoung other things.. very warm sounding board!

Scotty.. a few links to some great sample libraries for the XF (if you don't already know of these)  I also bought SAMPLEROBOT and sampled a few of my old rack synths, and have their best sounds in the XF.  Good stuff!

    Frank,
I hear what you're saying. It can be complicated. I haven't even tried out any of the record or store functions yet. Still just playing with the voices and arps.

    Cali,
Thanks for the links! I might try that sample robot and bring in my fab sounds from my micro korg synth.
