M-Audio Delta 1010LT

This is new to me. I recently switched from windows XP to windows 7. While trying to set up my in and outs I disabled the 1/2 out and it disappeared from the properties box. Now I can't locate it. Where did it go? Can anyone tell me? I'm using 3/4 in and out for now, but I would like to use 1/2 basically because I am O.C. Thanks!

I assume you downloaded and installed the newest drivers for the 1010LT for win7?  is this 64bit or 32bit?  are you using WDM or ASIO driver mode?

Hmmm, good questions. I will check on these. I do know that it's 64 bit. The machine is an i7, 8gig DDR3, TB hard drive, 7200 rpm. I have to run to the studio. When you mentioned ASIO, I remebered that I had to call CW when I first received the Delta and they helped me set it up as ASIO.

The machine is an i7-3770K CPU @ 3.5GHz, 8Gig DDR3, 64 Bit operating system. The Audio options box tells me it is running as WDM/KS. I also noticed that it reads as follows: Audio bit driver depth 16 and the 64 bit double percision engine box is unchecked. Is this something I should change since the system is 64 bit?
The original reason I called CW was because the card was making a strange buzzing/frequency-ish sound through the XLR1 input. Setting it up as ASIO didn't get rid of it completely, but helped. Anyway, I should probably set the card up as ASIO again, but where did the 1/2 input option go? What do you recommend I do?

yes, change it to ASIO.  the WDM drivers might not be developed correctly for 64bit which may have caused your problem.  I don't know.  I used to have a 1010LT, but that was XP, I've never set one up for win7.

You also didn't say which version of sonar you're using.  if X1, press "P" on the keyboard and the preferences window pops up.  under AUDIO DEVICES, change the pull down menu to ASIO.  click OK.

if 8.5 and below, it's either in OPTIONS>AUDIO or OPTIONS>AUDIO>ADVANCED

Also you don't list which version of Sonor you're using.  When you go to Options/ Audio in 8.5 also go to drivers and make sure Output Driver 1/2 is checked.  In X1 this is under Preferences/Audio/Devices.  The first Win.7 Delta 1010 Driver Update only used 7/8 as an output option but this may have/should have changed since then.

Yes sorry, I am using Sonar 8.5. I still can't find input 1/2. When I disabled it, it disappeared. ASIO isn't working for me either. What about this ASIO 4 ALL Driver??? It is working right now set up as WDM/KS with 3/4 recording and playback. Plus I checked the 64Bit double percision engine box.

no, ASIO4ALL is not a real ASIO driver, it's a wrap for WDM drivers.  you do not want ASIO4ALL to be used on a soundcard which already has native ASIO drivers.

when you say you disabled 1/2, where exactly did you disable it?

I didn't have a good feeling about that ASIO4ALL. In the properties box where you can get to the playback and recording options. I was in the recording section. The layout is different so I was learning the functions. I opened 1/2, selected disable and it disappeared from that section. Anyways I'm now discovering that I'm missing some other things that I had before. Like Cakewalk effects. The Sonitus effects are there, but no cakewalk. Also the smartloops sample isn't in the softsynth section. I can access it by going through the files from the start menu. I'm guessing I missed something during installation. This is only the second machine I have installed it on. Maybe I need to be online when I install it. IDK, tomorrow's another day.

UPDATE: So I managed to get the card working fine as ASIO. I still haven't found where 1/2 went so for now I will use another in & out. I also managed to find the smart loops in the track view where the soft synths and Bus options are. I just needed to find the right file path, duh. I still would like to know what happend to my Cakewalk effects. If anyone could help me out with that, I would appreciate it. Thanks.
To fix the soundcard issue I just needed to select the proper drivers and make sure I choose the right in and outs for each track. Plus I learned that each time you make a change to the audio you may need to close and open Sonar for the change to take affect. Thought this may help someone in the future.
