Worlds collide? How about "Enter a new Dimension?"
I recently moved from Southern California to Northern California and have been traveling back and forth since. I came across the Ohm Studio on the Software forum here and gave it a try. I started collaborating on the Ohm Studio while at home and it is pretty cool. Although you will quickly run into its limitations, it presents an expanded work environment by utilizing "cloud computing".
Again, I see the potential which Cakewalk could move into from their "Stage to Studio" campaign to a new dimension by working in the cloud. If users could access the same project via the cloud, collaboration from two or more locations would be instantaneous. Another advantage would be no matter where you are, as long as you have internet access you would have access to SONAR and your projects. For instance, you happen to be in someone else's studio which is built around another DAW application, you could still work in SONAR in the same studio by accessing it from the cloud.
In my view, I see this as the new work environment for so many applications. Now if SONAR was in the cloud, I could work with others without limitation and save the time of traveling by instant access with fellow collaborators in the same virtual environment.
Ok, your turn to boo hoo this idea.
Kind regards,
