Using SONAR X1 instead of NI Battery

Hi,

Currently I use NI Battery to setup my drum kit (Kick, hats, clap, etc) and map each sample to its own channel.  Is there something native to SONAR X1 that I can use instead of Battery?

I read somewhere that Dimension Pro could be used?  Any Sampler alternatives to Battery?

Regards,
B

If battery is working for you, why change? Simply use it in Sonar. Dimension is nothing like battery.  Honestly, nothing in SOnar is quite like battery.  Session Drummer 3 is a decent drum program, but it's simply nothing like battery.

"...and map each sample to its own channel." That part alone pretty much eliminates Dimension Pro.

I have Battery 3 as it comes as part of KOMPLETE. If I had only it and Session Drummer 3, Battery 3 would win hands down.
In usability and features its a dedicated drum sampler and light years ahead of SONAR's included SD3.

    Thanx for the input.

I DO agree that Battery is light years ahead of anything else with regards to drum sequencing but I have a problem and DO NOT know how to fix it.

When I loop 4 bars of music, it starts going out of sync with the rest of the track each time it loops - I cannot work like this!!!

    Any suggestions?

I know this will sound ridiculously obvious, and if you've had this problem in lots of different projects then this is likley moot, but be absolutely positive when you select the 4 bars that it is exactly 4 bars. I've selected 4 bars in PRV for example, and ended up having a loop that was a sixteenth or thirty-second shy of four full bars. You could test it by shoving in some Smart Loops and seeing if you get the same result.

Another other optoin is - why not just paste several times instead of looping? Takes a few more seconds but well worth the trouble of keeping Battery online. Keep your midi drum tracks linear instead of using loops, no big deal.

I use Battery 3 too. I don't understand why you don't want to use it full x64bit support on both? You can use both you know!
