SONAR X1 Producer upgrade from studio 8.5.3

I have Sonar 8.5.3 Studio and it looks like I can upgrade to SONAR X1 Producer for $99. I have the waves plugins, so I am not sure I need the extra power of sonar producer -- but for $99, it might be doable (the upgrade is almost always $199). Convince me I need it (ha, ha). Thanks in advance, Kevin

Yea,  I really like X1, probably because I have gotten familiar with it and I'm not as familiar with 8.5 anymore....but I remember a rocky road, very rocky road in the transition.

    Screensets and Prochannel are great...

I have 8.5 Producer and I just did the up-grade to X1 production suite with essentials.
I wanted to keep in the myself in the upgrade path just in case X2 would be a must have when it comes out.
I do plan on keeping 8.5 loaded untill I get X1 figured out though, you know just in case.

I just bought X1 and I've seen them all at this point, "ableton, cuby, pt, reason, reaper, logic, mutools, orion, etc, etc." and X1 is the slickest, fastest, smoothest thing I've seen.

I don't know what Sonar 8.5 is like, but I can say that the EQ and the Compressor on the Pro-Channel remind me of hardware.  They are that good.  They surpass all my vsts!  However...  I don't own any waves plugs...

I do have PSP Audio ware though.. and that is pretty high end stuff!

( btw, Renoise is totally different.  I will not say that Sonar surpasses Renoise, as Renoise is totally in its own thing. )

you wont regret the lack of clutter with x1.. learn screensets and you will be totally hooked.

Thanks guys -- I couldn't connect to the forums for awhiel there and then I went away for the weekend. I'll make my mind up by the end of the month, but I'll probably do it.
