What with Yahoo UK earlier this week, them ol' Propellerheads a few days ago I guess Cakewalk must have felt compelled to join in the party at some point.

It's been an internetz nightmare of a week at my end.

Another week of it and I might have to get me a book to read.

Its pigs I tell ya, pigs, all that oinkin, mad at all the talk in here about becan, and how they end up having to pay for it with their lives.

So they launched a counter attack to shut down the communication center of the becan eating world, the Coffee House Forum.

In the past, I've noticed that most of the forum outages occur on Thursdays. I always assumed it was for maintenance or updating the software.
This time, even cakewalk.com was down, which is unusual.

It was strange, I could go anywhere but the Forums yesterday. My theory is that the Bapu post counts were somehow affecting the servers and took the whole system down.

Obviously my life has changed.  I didn't even notice it was down.  It could probably be down for 3 days and I wouldn't notice.

Well, unless I'd just posted a song. :) But that's rare these days too.

My guess on what happened is, they were testing X2 on their secure server to see how the new live collab function works, and it sent it's embedded destructive code across the interweb and destroyed the forum server.

    Just an educated guess.

    Oh! OH!

Don't eeevveeennnn  talk to me about that ****ing **** ****ing, low life, ****ing, Pro Channel.

Dude .... and you know I never use the word 'Dude', ... but dude ... I got all inspired and stuff last night. Got a lot done 'round the house, haven't turned my DAW on in weeks, so I decided to treat myself to a few hours.

Took an old project I wasn't happy with and reset the desk. Removed every plug-in, made a preset of a Pro Channel layout all set to off, and on 15 out of the 37 tracks, the Pro Channel was unresponsive when I tried to use it.

You think there's a lot of asterisk's in this post, you should've been here last night. There was more asteriskeses than you could shake a number 8 key at while holding shift.

It's an understatement to say I was fit to be tied.

Even worse, I didn't notice it until I had about, oh, 4 ~ 5 hours in to the project. I was working really slow on each track starting at the top of the list.

I can delete the modules that don't work, reinsert them, dead. Nodda. Zip. Zilch.
