How Do I Layer Instruments In Sonar 7

I'm trying to use Sonar 7 Producer in a live performance. I want to load 3 instruments and have all layered so I can hear all 3 when I play on the midi keyboard. I can hear each one individually when I click on it in the synth rack. But only that one. I've used Acoustica Mixcraft for this and I just had to arm each track. But Mixcraft doesen't do DXI instruments. I think it has to do with midi routing but I'm lost. Please be specific. Sonar is very new to me. Thanks.

    Welcome to the forum!
If your MIDI keyboard is sending on channel 1, and all the MIDI tracks/soft synths are using Ch 1, they are all play. Why wouldn't arming the tracks work in SONAR? Input echo must be on on all tracks, of course.

Do you mean the three sounds play the same stuff you're playing live, or that there is pre-recorded material on two of them?

I don't remember, though, if there's a setting in 7PE for something like "always echo present MIDI-track" or similar (which, I suppose, should be deselected).

Someone else might chime in with a more defined answer - I hope.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.

Dont have the Sonar 7 Help file, but in the version 8 Help file there is a section called Controlling Live MIDI Playback - Midi echo. It has a section on the page about controlling multiple synths with one MIDI keyboard and gives specific details (look under "Input Echo button" if you need to). Of course the complexity will change depending on whether you are simply layering or if you are trying to do keyboard splits (seperate ranges of the keyboard play specific synths).

Kalle's offered the solution: simply assign the same MIDI channel to all three synths and turn on input echo for all of them.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.
