Windows 8 Preview and SONAR X1

SONAR X1 Producer has been working fine in Windows 8 Preview - up until the latest release (the Release Preview). During the install, for both 32-bit and 64-bit, Windows fails to register APRO.dll (from Shared Surfaces). This may have something to do with Microsoft's revamp of the sound system for the Release Preview.

Anyway, I know that Windows 8 is not yet a supported OS, so just thought I'd report it for any devs that may be watching and/or interested out there.

Someone did mention that in one of the other Win8 threads. Not sure if it's true.

They arent doing away with midi don't worry.
They new Metro apps don't support midi or vst plugins yet,
but the legacy apps still support everything just like in Win 7.

Yeah... Metro doesn't support MIDI/VST or anything much in the way of audio beyond DirectSound... that will most likely change with final release. WinRT (the Metro framework/API) is still very much a work in progress. The desktop side of things will still support everything as usual (except for this minor change, it seems, in the release preview - my suspicion is that the sound framework isn't really in place yet).

I like Win 7 and it seems it's gonna be supported for a long time. Maybe Win8 will turn into something great but from what I've seen it looks infuriating. By the way... that was a weird filter fail. Suggestion?
