Upgrade time from Essentials to Producer

Soon (before june 30th when the special expires) I will be making the move from Essentials to Producer... Everything I have done to this date, has been recorded, or downloaded ( i.e. plugins ) for 32bits. I have 64 bit capability.
What will I need to rework when I make the switch to 64bit. Will all of my old projects play the same? Will I need to change my interface settings? Re-download? Delete? I have not a clue what I am in for... X1a,b,c, or d?  Will I "crash" and burn?

I am open for suggestions. Thanks, Ken

You shouldn't have any great issues. Bitbridge will automatically bridge any x32 plugins that you use. There may be the odd one that won't play nicely but there's a cheap alternative called jbridge, which I prefer personally.

TBH though most decent plugs have a x64 version now. You'll need x64 bit drivers for your audio interface but if you are running a x64 bit system already, you've already got them.

Install order is IIRC X1--->X1c--->Expanded (if using it)---->X1d patch.

Is Bitbridge built in to the program or do I need to get it elsewhere?

Bitbridge works automatially so you don't need to do anything. However, there are a couple of plugins that will not work in 64 bit. They are the ones that will show up dead in your projects. You will have to DER them (delete and replace).

Also, bitbridged plugs cannot be docked in Multidock. I am told "jbridge" will let them be docked but it's a 3rd party addon you have to download.

Ewwww, so if I open an old project to play it, Some effects that were installed at 32bit will need to be re installed and possibly remixed?

Quick question.........My system has 4GB of RAM.....In the 64bit X1 Producer world, is this sufficient?

I read that it "requires" 2GB, I was more interested in the users point of view as far as performance on the real road.      Thx

It should run just fine for most projects. The only reason you'd need more than 4GB is if you had a huge project with tons of audio tracks and softsynths loaded.
