Audio engine oddness in X1 Producer

The audio engine on my rig has intermittently been turning itself "on"(starting) after Ive turned it "off"(stopping).
Also
Ive had intermittent noise (almost like tape hiss) when the audio engine is running.

I know this is not right. Has anyone else experienced similar anomalies ?

Any ideas as to what might be causing it ?

 Thanks

It's not a rogue plug-in is it?  I found that the old Cakewalk Tape Sim (correctly) generates hiss when playback is stopped but it's inserted, but it got me worried for a while.

Not sure why you are turning the audio engine off? The situation normal is for it to be on.

If you hear hiss it could be because you have your gain way to high in your system output. Check what you have setup for levels throughout the entire system.

    Two(2) ECHO Mia MIDI

This rings a faint alarm bell.
What driver mode have you got the Mia set to?

    Problem solved.

    It was the MME drivers

The WDM-KS should work Id think. The Kernel streaming was the prefer choice on older sonar versions.

Anyone had luck with the WASAPI drivers ?
