Creating a new folder in the browser to collect loops in...

I know this is another very basic question but I'd like to know the best way to create a Browser folder to drop loops, sounds, whatever into. For example, currently I am poking around all the drum loops and I'd like to create a folder to copy the ones I think I might want to use in my project. That way I have them all in one spot and can try them out in the song without constantly digging through endless folders to find them again. For my test project I was just dragging them right into the deadspace at the end of my track until I was ready to try them but obviously that is not an ideal way to do things. In the older vids I see it used a more windows style filing system but the new browser is quite different and I'm not sure where to start. Any help?

    Please tell me this is possible. I don't want to have to write down the file path every time I THINK I may want to use a loop.

    Highlight the target folder in X1's browser, right click and select properties, browse to the location in windows explorer and create a new sub folder. the new sub folder will show up in X1's browser.
    You should never have to write down file directories: copy-paste is your friend. I hope this helps.

    Oh wow... that's a messed up way of having it set up. I never would have figured that one out. Thanks, bluzdog. I'm gonna try to see if I can actually do that but with shortcuts pointing to the original folder instead of copying the file to avoid using up extra diskspace. Either way though I'm just glad it is possible... it's still weird they made it like that.

    Actually scratch that. I don't think the shortcut thing would work. I doubt dragging a shortcut into the clips pane would produce an actual clip. I'll just have to manage the folders I make to keep things reasonable. Thanks again.

    You can use your own sub folders for all kinds of stuff. For example if you have a ProChannel preset and you want to save it and or maybe save similar variants, you can save those in sub folders in The ProChannel presets directory.. It's a huge time saver when you work on a track and you want to recall some favorite ProChannel settings including all your EQ etc.  Nice way to keep it tidy and speed production at the same time.

    Two internal 2TB SSDs laptop stuffed with Larry's deals and awesome tools. Studio One is the cat's meow as a DAW now that I've migrated off of Sonar. Using BandLab Cakewalk just to grab old files when migrating songs.

    I just go into Windows and find the folders files I know will show up in the browser,i.e. OS, Cakewalk Content,Audio Library,Loops,One Shots,and pick a folder and copy paste .wavs .aiff mp3's into it,then it shows up[I rename the folders I change and add stuff too],also I put all of EZ Drummers MIDI patterns in the Session Drummer 3 Patterns folder,so I now can use them with SSD4,as I love the EZ patterns,and specially the fills,as well as the Slate SD3 stuff,but I only use SSD4,as a Drum Synth,as it's so easy to set up.

    It took me a while but I'm sure there is a myriad of ways of doing similar stuff.

    X1's browser deal,is really cool,and I wonder if other Daws have this drag n drop functionality,as good?
