Audio Levels are decreasing after recorded tracks.

Hi there, I have been using sonar LE for a while now and still find it quite confusing. I use a samson c01u usb condenser mic to record guitar and vocals. When I record either the instrument/vocals I find the audio levels are in the right range as in between -15 and -6 db's, but when I play it back in the timeline it's dropped down to about -30 -40 db's. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers, Chris.

    Welcome to the forum!
    That indicates your input level is not high enough. The level is set by your soundcard (the USB mic) only, SONAR has no role in it. You can make a weak signal look hot when you just raise track slider, however, the track track slider has no effect on the actual input level. I've never used those USB mics so I can not give further advice.

    The USB mics have caused a lot of head scratching to people. THey are not very suitable for actual DAW work, very simple projects, podcasting etc. may go fluently, though...
