Still having major trouble with AudioSnap

I've purchased a few of the tutorial videos and have been steadily making progress through them. But in several of the demonstrations of AudioSnap I'm not getting ANY results, and in one procedure I can't even turn AudioSnap on!
In a previous post I stated that I'm getting the error message: 'invalid measure and/or beat' when trying to quantize a clip,(I still haven't resolved this issue)and now I can't even turn on AudioSnap when attempting to stretch the tempo of a loop.
I select the clip, press 'a' to bring up the palette, press the power button, but nothing happens! It won't turn on!
Am I missing something here,or have I got some kind of bug or fault?
I'm inclined to completely dismiss this feature as it's  causing nothing but grief.
Also, when I bring up the loop construction window,I appear to be missing many of the buttons,ie: 'beats in clip', 'orig BPM',
'root note', preview buttons etc etc It shows a simplified version. Is there a setting to show all the features?
I apologize is I'm asking such basic questions, but it's quite disheartening to follow the vids to a tee,yet come up with these issues.
Cheers.

Are you sure you don't have a groove clip selected or V-vocal active? Audiosnap, Groove clips, and V-Vocal are mutually exclusive, i.e. using one stops the other working.

The invalid beat/measure message is usually because you have a transient mapped to a beat somewhere that confuses SOnar. For example when extracting tempo it usually means that Sonar thinks the tempo needs to exceed the bpm limit, (which I can't remember off the top of my head) but it's just a marker position that does that.

I have a couple of videos on Audiosnap one on extracting tempo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7VR7WkHywTo, the other on changing tempo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=weIZy_ibH5c that may or may not help.

Yep,I was trying to use it on a groove clip.Doh
The clip used in the demonstration looked and sounded like a groove clip which confused me.

I'll definitely check out those vids of yours. Thanks man.
