Question about recording

Is it possible to record the exact sound that comes out of my speakers, let's say I have multiple sources making a different sound and I want to record what comes out of the speakers. And there should be no audio loss when playing the track. Thanks, Nate

Sure, just enable the correct input in sonar and your sound card

I assume you mean the sound is coming from here and there, not from SONAR? If so, it's not up to SONAR, it depends on your soundcard. If you have "What U hear" setting in it or something similar, it's easy. Otherwise, you'll need to route everything out through an output of your soundcard, and then back to an input.

There are also recorder programs that can record the whole output, but I don't remember the names of any.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.

Yea I'm using different programs, if anyone could tell me which program to use would be great. Most importantly it should be recorded without any quality loss and rewiring. At the moment trying out SoundTap, it supposedly creates a virtual device of some sort so there is no need to rewire. Thanks, Nate

Depends on your interface, on mine I just record the main stereo pair but that depends on your setup.

Posting your interface make and model may help.

SoundTap advertises that it captures streaming audio.  Sonar is not designed for that application.  Sonar is for creating the stuff that you are trying to record!
