Where does Waves install 64bit plugs?

Maybe a Waves "Street Rep" can help me out here.

I bought CLA+JJP bundle and Sonar can only see 32bit versions. I read somewhere that Waves V9 is fully 64 bit. So where are the 64bit files placed by the Waves installer?

Got to say. Waves Cloud Licensing is very well done indeed. And the plugins themselves were very reasonably priced.

Do you guys use the WUP option?

I used the WUP option when I bought Mercury V8. Got Mercury V9 for free. WUP is where it's (if you have it at the right time).

On my machine, 64bit is installed here:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Waves\WavesV9\Waveshells\WaveShell-VST 9.0_x64.dll

Don't be fooled by the fact that it's in the "Program Files (x86)" directory. Waves is weird that way.

Now, what I did (which is non-standard) is I created a "Waves" directory in my vstplugins folder and copied the .dll there. That's where I point SONAR 64bit to. I just have to remember to recopy the .dll on a Mercury update as that .dll knows what plugs I use.

Of course you could just point SONAR 64 to the "install" directory (i.e. my example was my install directory).

I bought CLA a few months ago - in fact, just a bit before they bundled them w/ JPP. Too bad I missed that deal. JPP is next on my list. And unfortunately, no there's no way I can "upgrade" from CLA to CLA+JPP.

I think you do get 1 year of WUP free w/ any new purchase - you may want to check that out. So far, I haven't bothered to look into it.

Thanks heaps bapu. That clears things up. I was assuming Waveshell was some kind of bitbridge thing.

Thanks for the tip Rain- owning a lowly 7 plugs, I will probably forgo WUP. If I had one of the big bundles though it might be different... ohhh, to own the Mercury :)

Good advice chuckebaby. I'm with you all the way on that.

I never buy VSTs at full price but I have a weakness sometimes when something drops from it's original value to it's new "current permanent" price and I feel like I must buy it :) E.G. when CLA first came out I think it had a sticker price of $800. Then it was $500, the same i think as JJP (I wanted the fairchild see).

Now today you can grab both of them for a total of $359 from audiodeluxe. They sure do sound nice too.

hear ya loud and clear buddy.congrats on owning the waves.
waves is the caddilac of plug ins so im very excited for you.

heres another site with some freebees
they make some cool plug ins and the strip modules are vintage coolness.

    http://www.starplugs.com/sess/utn;jsessionid=154fe6b740804dd/shopdata/index.shopscript

under products/free vsts youll see a few oldies but goodies in here.
some might say they only work in win xp because they havent updated these older plugs.

im a fan of the older vintage plugs and sometimes even plugs that are 5 or 6 years old are cool to(vst).

Definitely one of the drawback of "free". It can be said that even some (heftily) paid for plugs suffer from the same problem.
