UbiquitousBubba I knew better, but I did it anyway. I crept up to the Techniques forum for awhile. I knew I shouldn't do it, but I wanted to read some of the freds. Many of them were very enjoyable. My mistake was in posting my opinions. I saw a fred taken over by someone who who had an agenda and I failed to control my impulse to state my opinion. I knew better, but I posted anyway. The only way to prevent this type of faux pas in the future is to ban myself from venturing into the Techniques forum for now. You'll be happy to know that the Techniques forum will be a Bubba-Free zone for awhile. While this may not be good news for the Coffee House, it is cause for a global celebration in the Techniques forum. I bring happiness whenever I leave... Don't you dare stop posting there, Bubba! I love when you stop in and give your take on things and wished you did so more often. Take it from a guy that gets into some sort of confrontation at least every 3 months....stopping hurts those that are interested in what you have to say. It's not fair to them. You take the good with the bad...but never deprive those that can read between the lines and through the hype. You'd be surprised at how many love you and appreciate you as well as your comments. Especially me if that means anything? :) The best way I can compare the forums...is to an album release. You may get 500 great reviews and then one comes along and totally slams you. You soon forget about those 500 great reviews that were so fabulous, you were on cloud 9 for a while. Yet the one bad one looms over you and runs through your mind over and over to the point of upsetting you because you question whether this reviewer even listened to YOUR album due to being so off with the comments. We're all going to have opinions. Some will be more passionate than others...words get lost in text...language barriers, even language barriers from state to state in the US. Then of course...there are people that are so set in their ways, it's like talking to an AI bot. Share your opinion because you believe in it, and those that want to hear what you have to say will prosper. Those that don't won't listen to you or anyone else anyway, so it's really not even worth getting heated. Easier said than done...I know from experience. LMAO! If possible, please reconsider as I really enjoy your posts. Most of the stuff I see you post is in the coffee house and is humorous. All well and good...but I enjoy the serious side of you a bit better to be honest. I guess because I like to talk shop with people that are open minded and like to share also without posting this place up with falacy, hype and misleading crap that is a voice for the sake of a voice. So think it over brother....I'd definitely be sad if you exiled yourself. Then those who won't listen to you or anyone else win...and we can't have that. :) Much love and admiration my brother. -Danny

+1 Danny I do apologize Bubba for not taking this post seriously as I'm only accustomed to seeing your humourous side and I ran off with that. (On this occassion, I'm also guilty of not reading the Techniques fred). I hope you do continue posting in that forum as I'm certainly one of your fans and enjoy everything and anything you do contribute (funny or not).

Thanks for the kind words, folks. I'm sure I'll creep back up there when I think nobody's looking. This little break of mine is intended to police myself so I don't continue running around with a jumbo sized bag of Troll Chow. There's a time and a place to post and to refrain from posting. (Turn, turn, turn...). While I wrote my latest posts there very carefully, I think it might have been better if I had not posted at all rather than to toss more fuel on the fire. I just felt that there were things being said that needed a reply. If it werent' for the fact that a number of good people were getting trashed in this thread by one poster with an agenda, I probably would have written the whole thing off as a minor disagreement. I'm not the forum police and I could have just reported this individual. I posted anyway, and thought better of it later. I chose not to edit my post or remove the content, but I decided not to keep playing this game.

YA.. I am going to download the last pdf but I am reading through it all and skimming the posts by others. Does the pdf have just Yep's posts or everything? I've been reading it for a week or so and am only on page 14. I read until my attention span wanders off... so it will take me forever, but I want to do my best to comprehend it. It is good huh? J

To answer the title of the cockos fred: my recordings sound like arse because I'm impatient. I don't need anybody to tell me that. :p Also, don't let anybody browbeat you into not posting what you want to post, U-B. Seriously. People disagree and I couldn't possibly be too bothered to worry what other people think. If it works for you, it's worth posting.

I'm not the forum police and I could have just reported this individual. I posted anyway, and thought better of it later. I chose not to edit my post or remove the content, but I decided not to keep playing this game. It's good you feel this way. However, the other side of the coin is, there are readers that sometimes take posts as gospel and this can be misleading. Most times when I argue a point, it is to hopefully drive a point home that I have tried and tested myself with good results. Some things are fact, some things are passionate opinions. But I think it's good when you speak your mind as best as you can while making your point. If it causes a confrontation, that's the chance we take. But I look at it this way...I'd rather go out speaking about something I believe in that may help a person over shutting up and allowing those with a voice for the sake of a voice to corrupt those that are truly in need. If you make a difference for the better in one persons world...you've done a good job....and trust me, like I said before, there are people that know what to read and know what to skip through. You carry yourself very well to where the only ones that won't get you are the ones that don't really get anyone but themselves because they love the sound of their own voices. Don't leave me man! :) For what it's worth, though I didn't get involved in that thread because my opinion would have really caused a ruckus, I agree with what you said. There are some purists out there that don't always agree with the stuff we have today. I'd not consider myself a purist, but some of those tools don't sit well with me either. However, they DO make certain things a lot easier and we only spite ourselves when we totally disregard them. In my world...it's everything in moderation, nothing to the extreme. :) -Danny

Thanks again for your comments. I see your point and I agree with you. Sometimes, I allow myself to get suckered into a pointless argument and I get a lot more heated than I would like. It is good to set the record straight for those who who don't yet have enough facts or experience to draw sound conclusions even if the person you're "debating" is just playing you. I just felt that I had crossed a self-impopsed line and wanted to reset myself accordingly. I don't want to be guilty of retaliating in kind. I can't very well insist on civil behaviour from others if I don't demand it of myself first. (Well, I can, but it's not a very good idea.) Thanks for the kind words, everyone. Most of the time, I enjoy reading the hard won wisdom in the threads up there, and I'm grateful to all those who have the patience to share with others. Out of respect for the forum, I try to muzzle myself when outside the Coffee House. Inside, it's another story...

One part technique, two parts passion, no doubt. Give it a few days, let everyone rethink it, post what you feel after re-reading it. Life and creation are sometimes the stumbling blocks to the greater understanding we all seek.
