USB Mouse issue!!

Hope you don't mind me posting this in here.....

My USB wireless mouse as well as the PS/2 doesn't respond anymore. The latest software I installed (before the mice stopped working) was Zune as I was planning to download some music into my new Windows phone. I also couldn't get Zune to recognize my phone when plugged into various USB ports (I assume this is a USB driver issue).

I got into microsofts online help files and even used Fixit, but to no avail. I've checked in Device Mgr./Universal Serial Bus Controllers and none have a yellow question mark. However, there was a yellow question mark on another device (I think Ports) and Windows couldn't find nor reinstall that driver (possibly the one for Zune?). I'm not at this PC right now, so I'm going from short term memory.

I'm using 32 bit Vista Ultimate as an OS (specs are below).

This is just taking the Mickey out of my Mouse.

Is there a System Restore point that you can go back to?  Prior to installing the Zooooon software?

I had a similar issue with a completely different hardware config (LG Android USB drivers broke all my USB ports) and that's what I had to do.

I'd try rolling back that Zune software out by means of windows restore from the set point just before you installed the zune software and see if that makes your mouse work again.  if not, it's easy enough to restore again from after the zune software installation (just make sure you create a restore point before restoring the previous one).

Thanks guys. I'll try that tonight.

Don't know what it is about these Apps that completely wipe out your USB's !!
It also changed all my default MP3 files (as well as others) to be opened by Zune!!
(Of course I can change that in the settings, but I just don't like when software like this takes over all the other apps upon install). I just wanted to use it for 1 simple operation....

Uh, the bleeding edge of technology is almost always fraught with trials and tribulations.

It's blindingly obvious that you need a completely new DAW.

Covert her to a girlfriend/housemate with separate finances (and I don't mean replace her).

    Simples.

    Simples.

When we got married, we made our vows to each other and I still recall telling her: "for better or worse, in good health & in bad, what's mine is mine and what's yours is mine" etc....but somehow, she ends up getting the paycheck & I end up getting the paystub....

I'll shirley need some sort of a digital to analogue converter or even a catalytic converter.
