Tom: I tried the 214 on a vocal pass........didn't like it that much on my voice....I bought the 214 at a great price, $298 new. I was actually looking for a good acoustic guitar mike....my favorite is an AKG 451 followed by a Neumann KM84, but I didn't want to spend that much. I'll try the 214 on acoustic and let you guys know. The hype on this is that it's a cardiod only version of a 414, but I've done alot of vocal sessions years ago singing into a 414, and I really don't agree with the hype. That's why I was asking whether any other posters here have used the 214.

GET the Peluso 2247SE! You won't be disappointed

I also wanted to point out that the Nashville facility pictured in my avatar requested the Peluso 2247SE. I bought 2 of them, one for Treasure Isle Recorders and one for my Florida studio. Treasure Isle has had tons of gold & platinum records done there over the years
