Not Recording - I'm befuddled!

Okay, it's got to be something simple (I hope).

Quad, 4Gb, X1d Exp, Win7 64, with a Lynx L22 - same setup for years.  Input shows in the Lynx mixer/meter.  Setup blank project, audio input - L22 Left.  Arm track.  No response from the meter and will not record.

However, the peak input level numbers in TV (upper right - from right to left: Minimize button, Layer toggle button, then input level numbers) change with the input, e.g. I clap my hands in front of the mic and the numbers jumpto -54.9 or more depending on how hard I clap.

Audio is there but not getting to the record stage?  Tried it in S1 2 and no print there either.

What's up?

Sounds to me like a gain problem. -54.9 dB is extremely low level and won't register on the meters if their scaling minimum is higher than that (which they are by default -42dB).

Somewhere on your Lynx there'll be a way of increasing the input gain. That's where I'd start looking.

Did you enable phantom power? Does your mic need phantom power.

Something is obviously set to low in your gain stage. Just trace the entire signal chain and check each gain stage accordingly

Thanks guys - yes, my thoughts too on the levels.  I can change the meter settings to -96 and see movement so it is there.  Lynx gain settings are all at max.

Using Oktava MC-012 into my Apex 107 with Phantom engaged.  I'll try it through my Grace.

Okay, it's the 107 I guess.  Regular levels on my other mic & pre.  I guess I need to take a look at my cables and patch bay wiring.  Thx
