Choppy bounced audio with LP64 EQ enabled on any track

Hi!  I've never posted, but am a long time Sonar user.  I've been having this problem since I upgraded to Sonar X1, running the 64bit version. I get better performance in 64bit, so I no longer use the 32bit version of Sonar.

The problem occurs on every project that contains the LP64 EQ.  My workaround has been to either disable 64bit audio on bounce/freeze, or to bounce in real time.

I have increased the PluginBounceBufs in aud.ini to 350.  I run most projects at 4ms or 6ms latency, but have tried upping it to 14ms with no effect.

For example: I'm working on an acoustic guitar recording with only one mono track, output to a stereo bus.  Both the track and the bus have the Prochannel EQ enabled, with other modules removed.  The LP64 EQ is inserted into the guitar track's FX bin, but it doesn't seem to matter where I put it.  Lexicon Pantheon reverb and Channel Tools are inserted in the bus FX bin.  The loudest peak is -13.3 on the track and -9.5 on the bus.  Real time export works fine, but takes forever.

My systems specs are in my signature. Has anyone else seen this issue?  It isn't exactly a deal breaker, but its annoying and time consuming!

Its a very heavy user of CPU. It shouldn't cause you any problems except many report as do I glitching when adjusting it.

Because you have PC I would use that instead.

Increase latency further. You just can't use CPU-chomping effects like the LP64 while maintaining low-latency buffer settings. You'll have to either increase the buffers or substitute a more lightweight plugin, such as the Sonitus EQ or ProChannel. There's no particular advantage to using a linear-phase equalizer on a guitar track.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

I increased latency to 100ms, and it worked, but I'm trying to wrap my head around it.  Shouldn't the ExtraPluginBufs setting in aud.ini increase the buffers when I bounce?  This never occurred when I was running Sonar 8.5 32 on Win 7 64, other than the usual glitches while adjusting the EQ, and I was using a much slower PC (same E-MU PCI card).  I had a whole host of other performance issues on occasion, but not this.

I understand that the LP64 EQ is overkill, but I wanted to provide an example.  Why I should consider this normal behavior? Is this 64bit related? Driver related? I would expect to receive an error message if it's dropping out.  I'm fine with the workaround, but I'll most likely just stop using it. I don't usually have any particular reason to use it, I just like the interface.

I really just want to better understand what's going on.
