Bitbridge Still Active After Closing Sonar

I tried to search and could not find this topic.

After Closing Sonar X1d, Bitbridge remains active and shows up in my task manager (Bitbridge.exe *32 - 364,000k memory - Teleport Server).  I have also been getting occasional hangs when closing using some 32 bit plugins (Arturia Analog Lab, OPX Pro II).

Why does Bitbridge need to remain active when Sonar closes?

Not sure, but Bitbridge should close when Sonar does. Sounds like something else is at play here.

If you have 32 bit plugins that are hanging and or crashing then the teleport server process will remain until those plugins let go even if Sonar has closed and the sonar process is terminated.

Thanks - that is probably the issue.

That is totally the case with my system ...

Bitbridge is kinda dodgy thing, you'll probably notice that once you've closed Sonar, and that bitbridge is still in memory, once re-opening Sonar, projects will not load anymore .. white screen .... then not responding....

I'm still in the process of doing some tests, but so far I've found out that bitbridged plugins add some un-corrected latency (at least on instruments I've tried for now)... so basically, some (if not all) bitbridge plugin/instrument may move audio a few hundred (400-500) samples later....

I'm trying to nail the situation exactly before filling a bug report.... that's a big deal (at least, for me...)

    Cheers!

Good idea filing a bug report. It has been discussed at length here since people started going 64bit and bitbridge was introduced. I think the hanging thing has been there since day one so I would hope cakewalk are working on it.
A little quicker would be nice though :)

In the meantime there is  Jbridge  which solved a lot of these issues but not completely.
