    Wow...Greg is resigning.
I've been with Cakewalk since early 90's starting with Cakewalk 3.0 so it will be hard getting used to the fact he's not with us anymore.
Best of luck to him with any new endeavors.

    BTW....I'm still with SP5.0 also....does everything I need.

A safe weekend to all....carry on.

I had Cakewalk v1.0 and actually talked with Greg on the phone about some of the issues I ran into.  I'm now only up to SP4 until I can get a new DAW, but it still does most of what I need.

He specifically stated that "Talent is NOT included with the software..."

He specifically stated that "Talent is NOT included with the software..." Wait,,,, don't they include a bunch of loops and stuff with their content? " Modern musicianship " ( according to many modern musicians anyway ) - does indeed include the incredible musical talent associated with dragging and dropping loops onto a time line. It's (yawn) awesome (yawn ) these days.

    Hi,

Now Greg can go ahead and spend his time playing around with the old Cakewalk, and helping Todd Rundgren use swear words with it ... instead of showing us some nobody bruhaha on the front page, and calling that person an "artist" ...

How times have changed ... sadly, too much software these days is not about the dream and the music ... it's about the dj thing, and Cakewalk has become exactly the same thing.

I also, do not think that this is about the musician as much as they think ... the ability to add instruments with ease, just isn't there, unless you are doing a DJ thing ... and the process is not the same. So, in my book, Greg, you gave up on the musician a long time ago ... but yeah ... after 25 years, you are probably ready to retire and go sailing around the Bapu islands!

As a wise Guy once stated from his holy chapala ... none of the hits, none of the time ... prevents you from becoming just another turkey in the middle of all the other turkeys!

It's not the tool, it's what you do with it that counts.

    Yes.

Especially if the weather was hot and close to the San Andreas fault....Cali would have to change their name to Shake n Bake, USA.
