Snap

Where is the snap feature on X1? On Sonar 8.5 and earlier I used to set it to quarter notes or whatever when splitting tracks. I'm trying to split a track at 29:01:000 and every time I put the cursor on the track to do the split it jumps to 28:04:956. I want to determine the split point myself.

Its in the Snap module on the Tool Bar. Right click the tool bar to see if you have the Snap Module activated.

(PS: this is in the Help Menu).

It's on the control bar, snap module. Press C if you can't see the control bar. Right click to enable teh snap module if that's not visible. IIRC F12 is the shortcut.

Still having trouble. It's blue so I'm guessing it's enabled. To the right is another blue box and I have it set for 1/4. When I go to the time line above the tracks I set it for 29:01:000. After that I put the cursor on the track I want to split and right click to bring up the menu to split the track. As soon as I right click the time jumps to 28:04:956.

Did you click on the beat where you want to split it first? Then right click to split the track.

I click on 29 on the timeline above the tracks. I move the cursor to the audio track I want to split. The time is still at 29. I put the cursor on the white line that goes from the time line down through the tracks. I right click to bring up the menu that has the split function. As soon as I right click the time jumps.

If it's going to 28:04.096 or wherever it is no matter where you try and split you have inadvertently entered enhanced mode. Press 0 on your numeric keypad to exit it.

The only other issue with snap is to turn magnetic strength off but if you're that clost to 29 mu money is on the enhanced mode and it's just coincidence the split is that close.
