No sound on MIDI note unless I move Mod Wheel?

OK...Back in the studio to compose after several months and I am stumped out of the box. I don't recall having this problem actually... I have half a measure of MIDI 32nd notes that are 70 velocity but they will not sound unless I move the Mod Wheel after playing. I see them trigger in the MIDI "meter" window but nothing unless I move the Mod Wheel. Any trouble shooting ideas?

Are you using GPO? If so the mod wheel is the volume control.

Is your softsynth made be Garritan? Garritan uses the mod wheel for volume.

I'm using Cinematic Strings2 and I didn't have this problem before...I could use it to record volume swells (velocity) and such but I just want the softsynth to react to whatever velocity I have the notes @...I'll record the Mod Wheel though and see what happens;-)

If you haven't already done so, you might try turning off "Zero all controllers". I'd been having a similar problem with Alchemy where the mod wheel controls the filter cutoff and it was always getting turned all the way down after every plackback.

Wonder why they haven't made this global instead of per project.
