Sir Tom

Just want to say Sir Thomas Jones performed at the Cognac Blues Festival this evening.

One word for his 72 year old pipes : awesome !

Cheers,
Jerry

I wonder why some singers 'pipes' hardly diminish as the years go on, yet others seem to have drop the songs down a half-step every year. Jones, Paul Rodgers and Paul Carrack sing as well now as they did 30 years ago, whereas people like McCartney, Elton John and Roger Daltrey are really starting to struggle.

Can't be down to a monk-like lifestyle, 'cos Sir Tom is still a reknowned boozer, even Chris Evans was scared to go out on the town with him!

Maybe it has something to do with how naturally good their voices were to begin with?  If you were lucky enough to be born with "it" then it doesn't fade with age while, if you had to learn and train yourself, then it starts to go away after awhile?

Hugh Laurie was great last night.

Tonight is Sting, and rain (the weather forecast that is, not the forum Rain).

    Cheers,
    Jerry
