CAL features

Hello,
I'm new to SONAR; I'm interested to buy it on the base of CAL functionalities.

I wonder where I can find more information on last CAL version, included in SONAR X1d. I would like to find an up to date User Guide.

In particular, I'm interested in MIDI event handling. Does last CAL version support markers, other than  From, Now and Thru? Kontakt script doesn't, and this is the reason why I'm looking for a more powerful enviroment.

Thx in advance.

I don't think CAL has changed appreciably, if at all,  since before Sonar was ever written.  It isn't exactly documented or supported(?) by Cake,, either, though there's stuff around the web about it.  It's fairly powerful, though, and can be a big help manipulating midi tracks and devices.  It's based on LISP, though, an older AI language with a notation and syntax that's very different from the more straight-ahead or structured types of scripting prevalent in today's web-o-centric world.  If you don't have some software background or a knack for that kind of thing, it may take some time to master it.   I think still it's one of Cake's distinguishing features, and I used to use it all the time, but as Sonar has evolved and my knowledge of it - Sonar - has increased - I find I can do most of what I was doing without it.   But I really hope Cake keeps it in the package...
