Inserting audio loops.

Does anyone have an idea on the following in Sonar 8.5?

Occasionally when inserting loops, either my clicking on the loop or dragging and dropping the loop into a track...  The loop will appear at about measure 2000 instead of where I attempted to insert it!

If I stop Sonar and restart it will be fine.  But once it starts dropping the loop out near measure 2000 (it varys from 1500 - 2200) the only way I can fix it is restart Sonar, or cut it from measure 2000 and past it where I want it.

Any idea what might cause such wierd behavior.  It's not a major problem, but it's a pain in the ass.

Do you have all the patches for 8.5 installed? I think the latest version is 8.5.3.

I had all the patches installed at the time I upgraded my system.  It did start doing this until recently.  I do NOT have my DAW attached to the Internet (for all the obvious reasons) and I've not installed any new software.

I just can't imagine why it gets a sudden urge to put my loops 40 minutes beyond the end of my song.

try going into preferences/audio/import audio at its normal timestamp, either check it,or uncheck it if its checked.
because basically you are droping in audio...still considered importing it though.
    try it out.
