The KA6 on rare occasions does disconnect.. it should not be on a USB port that has selective suspend enabled.. ie..it needs USB power all the time.
There is a version 3 driver available from NI..not sure what it is supposed to fix if anything..
I suggest in control panel to make the KA6 the default audio device..and work from there.. you can also pull up the KA6 control panel which will show settings.
in preferences>audio>driver settings
playback timing master = KA6 main out
record timing master = KA6 1/2 or 3/4
set sample rate to 44.1khz
when you hit "asio panel" the KA6 control panel comes up.. i run fine with 192 samples and 1mS USB buffer
