X1 crashed computer on simple function? HELP new to x1 did I set something wrong?

Hi all. I am new to x1 so I will tell you what happend.
I was trying to use the step sequencer to do a drum track set simple enough right.
I was trying to  listen to what I had done and I got a drop out?
now mind you the project I was working on only have 3 track recorded on it as of now. all guitar and no processing as of yet.
so when I click on the drop out button I got a B.S.O.D.?! I don't know why.
it has done this once before on me I figured it was a fluke, but not now.
my system set up is  the following: x1 is set to record at 24/192 with the 64bit option off.
AMD PHENOM2 @ 3.0Ghz   QUAD CORE
8 Gb RAM @ 1333Mhz OCZ
MAIN DRIVE IS OCZ VERTEX3 SDD 120Gb(SATA3)
2-OCZ AGILITY2 SSD 64Gb EACH (SATA2)
ASUS MB WITH AMD 880 CHIPSET
AMD GRAPHICS CARD 5750 SERIES> TWIN MONITORS
600 WATT OCZ PSU

SOUND INTERFACE IS   E-MU 1212M PCI W/ASIO DRIVERS
MIDI INTERFACE IS       M-AUDIO -24/96

MONITORS ARE MACKIE HR824

So I cant find a driver or hard ware issue, and temp isn't the problem either.
if any one has any ideas please let me know
thanks

i have almost the same exact build as you, i built it myself.
so what is exactly happening now?
are you able to restart sonar and go back to work.
that and how old is your hard drive?...ram..?

    +1 to this..^^
ensure your graphics cards, bios, and all other cards and peripherals have the latest drivers... after that, if this issue persists, find online a program for memory testing.. of the three sustainable BSOD issues i have had, one was a graphics card driver and twice was bad RAM.

Is there any particular reason you're recording @ 192Khz?

Most people can;t hear a difference above 48Khz.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'main drive'. Do you mean this is where your OS & Programs are located?

If  so, this means you're using a 64 Gb drive for your audio projects yes?

That's not very big (by modern standards) and you'll fill it up quite quickly which will cause you problems

    i took out of this..he has 3 hard drives, one is a sata3 (VERTEX3 SDD 120Gb)
which is probably his os and sonar.

and he also has 2 more sata 2 hd's-
    (OCZ AGILITY2 SSD 64Gb a piece )

i think what bristol was trying to ask you is......are your hard drives full?

no none of my drives are full, yes all my drives are up to date(was the first thing I checked)
I also use external hdds for large storage files. ran memtest and it was fine.
so I am stuck. the reason I record in 192 is because I can(so I might as well), and the higher sample rate makes sure my guitar sound
ALWAYS comes through with crystal clear detail for editing and mixdown. I use a lot of heavy distortion so it helps keep it from being too muddy on the recording, and yes sadly I cant use most software based effects but I am ok with that lol. I will be caling cakewalk on monday for some help

well I called cake walk and was told it is a driver issue?
called e-mu and was told I have to upgrade to the newer version of my main 1010m card
to "maybe fix" the issue but I have to buy it at full retail no trade ins or ups
    which sucks
I am broke ass hell. so I will have to deal with not being able to use full power of my software

Yeah, I can also record in 192KHz - but I don't, for 2 reasons - one, nobody can tell the difference, and 2, your audio clips will take up 4 times as much space as mine.

We've already spotted that your hard drives are a little on the small side, and you're not helping by recording @ 192KHz

    But, it's your Daw.......
