Waves MaxBass alternatives and Sonar?

Hi!

I realise that I need to add Waves MaxBass to my Sonar setup. My questions are:

1. Does it work well with Sonar?
2. What are the alternatives?

Hmmm... I just realised that MaxxBass requires iLok. I want to avoid that if possible. So that gives more focus to the alternatives.

(please dont make this to a iLok discussion. I just dont want it, period.)

Are you sure maxxbass needs an iLock?

I run all waves v9 plugins without any problems in X1.  Version 9 does not require iLok, they now use Waves Cloud, where you can have your license on your hard drive or on any USB stick, your choice, and you can move your license anytime you want to from your hard drive or USB dongle.

I'd be interested in what is the basis of your 'realization'.  As mentioned above V9 doesn't require an iLok and worth exploring.  I also like the Waves Renaissance Bass plugin.  I don't think in terms of alternatives for plugins since they all are a different palette choice for me, and in any given project on may mix better than another.  Summary - I'd rather have both (as I do!)

Neither did I until I wanted Slate's FG-X. So I got an iLok2. And I have a spare. And I rarely travel with the iLok2; it pretty much stays plugged into the DAW (and may 'travel' to the other side of the room for the laptop DAW).

I've had it for over a year now and not one problem. YMMV.

Waves 9 doesn't use Ilok, they have their own protection now tha uses any old jump stick ,AND it's 64 bit now, works well with sonar with minor mousing/graphical issues. Aside from fastbouncing timecode plugs (X1d problem). Maxx Bass works amazing. I use it on the medium setting (starting point then dial maxx bass slider up or down) on vocals to give them thickness. Works great in sonar.

    Hi guys!

Sorry for not replying sooner. I thought I had set to subscribe to all replies to my question but I must have done something wrong.

Anyway. I thought it used iLok based on the little graphic on the following page saying "Easy Activation". When you hover your mouse over it it says iLok authorisatio. Thats why I assumed that was the case.

So why does it say that? Thanks for all your replies!

BTW, that Dark Mass seems quite alright by just testing it out very quickly.
