Lengthening EVERY NOTE in a clip?

If I have a piece already, and is it then possible to not alter the piece but just edit(lenghten) all the midi notes so that it's easier for musicians to look at the score?
(I want to keep the tempo at this current one too.. so a way to just edit the notes to make all clips longer without changing how it sounds?)

You can change the Display Resolution in the Staff View so the score is easier to read (there's a drop-down on the toolbar). If you actually lengthen the notes, your playback will of course be affected, so I wouldn't suggest that.

He doesn't want to change the actual length of the notes, just the displayed/printed length in SV. If the resolution is too high the score can be difficult to read.

If you seriously want readable sheet music it may be worthwhile to install Linux and download Lilypond and Rosegarden

I'm guessing it is not worth the trouble for what you want.

Is the problem that your score has a lot of 32nd, 64th, etc. notes, and you would like to read them as 8ths, quarters, etc?

If so, what you need to do is:

    Select the notes
PROCESS | LENGTH | 200% (to double the length of the notes -- make sure START TIME and DURATION are both checked)
Then change the tempo to double its current value.

OR, is the problem that you have a lot of short (staccato) notes, but they are showing up as small note values followed by rests (for example, a staccato 8th note shows up as a 16th + 16th rests)?

If so, you need to experiment with the "Fill Durations" "Trim Durations" and "Display Resolution" buttons in Staff View until the music looks similar to what you want.

    chris.

If so, what you need to do is:

Or why not try what I suggested first, and just change the Display Resolution? That would be the simplest way to handle this, but we haven't heard back from the OP yet.

I'm not at my SONAR now, but isn't there the magnifying glass or something on the right hand side under the piano roll? That makes the piano roll and "midi-notes" longer.

The OP is talking about "lengthening MIDI-notes" and "lengthening clips" to improve the visibility, which I understand means piano roll. You can make regular music notes bigger, but there's no way to make them longer (= easier to see). He's not talking about sheet-music I think.

magnifying glass may be good for editing( I use my microsoft mouse software magnifier with a thumb click) but I think he wants to see the whole screen better not just within a small magnified box-
Resoultion or the 200 percent thing are good ideas

I mean the ability to zoom the whole piano roll horizontally or vertically, not a magnified box.

In the bottom right of the screen is a little + and - that you can use to zoom in and out, if that is what you mean.

    Hi.
...easier for musicians to look at the score?

Given the above I suspect the OP is talking about the staff view (where is the OP anyway?), not the PRV. I think Susan G has hit the proverbial nail...

    The OP said
so that it's easier for musicians to look at the score
so until he comes back I'm still going to assume he meant the Staff View rather than the PRV. You might be right, but I've never heard of the PRV referred to as a "score". I guess we won't know for sure unless we hear from him again!

He's gotten some good suggestions here either way.
