Cleaner install: paths from old install exist after uninstalling everything ???

Cleaner install:  paths from old install exist after uninstalling everything

w 7 64

I have uninstalled ALL CW products.
I have deleted all the CW folders, hidden and not.
I have used a registry cleaner to remove all CW references.

And yet the X1 install finds info about paths already chosen.

How do I completely remove all references to CW products???

    1. Go to Control Panel | Add or Remove Programs - Uninstall SONAR X1 - When prompted to “Remove Shared Files”, click “Yes to All”....................................................... 2. Go to Start, type regedit into “search programs and files” - Navigate to HKEY_Current_User\Software\Cakewalk Music Software\SONAR Producer\ and delete the “X1” key - Navigate to HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Cakewalk Music Software\SONAR Producer\ and delete the “X1” key -..................................... If you had 32-bit SONAR X1 installed on a 64-bit OS, follow this step in addition: Navigate to HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Wow6432Node\Cakewalk Music Software\SONAR Producer\ and delete the "X1" key.................................... 3. Open Windows Explorer to C:\Program Files\Cakewalk or C:\Program Files (x86)\Cakewalk - Verify that the SONAR X1 Producer Edition directory has been removed - Open the Shared Utilities folder and delete PluginManager.exe and VstScan.exe ..........................................4.Open Windows Explorer to %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\Cakewalk - Delete the “SONAR X1 Producer Edition” directory if it exists............................................ 5. Open Windows Explorer to %APPDATA%\Cakewalk - Delete the “SONAR X1 Producer Edition” directory if it exists........................................... 6. Open Windows Explorer to \Users\(your user name)\AppData\Roaming\Cakewalk - Delete the "SONAR X1 Producer Edition" directory if it exists

A couple of the reg entry you listed were still existing after the reg-cleaner.

    Got SX installed, and updated.

    Thanks

I use Revo Uninstaller (pro) for uninstalling programs.  It first creates a System Restore point, then runs the program's uninstaller then does a scan of the registry and allows user option to remove the registry entries and the same way with left over folders/files.  Cleans out everything, then restart the PC (important step) before reinstalling.

There is also a free Revo Uninstaller but it does not remove 64 bit programs, just 32 bit.

If you have a program like reslendent registrar then yoiu can have it search for CW files and Sonar Files (on seperate searches) and delete all the entries, MAKE A COPY OF YOUR REGISTRY FIRST!!! The only files that will be ereased dsoing it this way that might not neeed deleteing are registry entries pointing to where sonar/CW files are located. You can go line by line and delete what you want if you know what you are doing but that will take possibly hours, the slash and burn methos can work very well in cases like this as long as you have only SONAR installed by cakewalk. other wise just search SONAR. Remember to make a copy of your registry, if you have any problems replace the registry with the copy you made and go line by line. Good luck :)

Sorry, my typing sucks and I didn't see that you had it solved.
    Peace,
