Dim Pro 64

Does anyone successfully use dimPro 64-bit? I'm running X1c (64) in win7 on a core 2. I use DimPro 32 more than any other synth, but inserting dimpro64 1.2 locks me up every time. Is there an update on this synth, or a technique fro getting it to run? And is it worth it?

Any thoughts why it locks up my X1?

Dim Pro is at version 1.5 and works very well in 64 bit mode.  I see your at X1c.  Perhaps it's time to upgrade to X1d.

You probably need to update DP to 1.5 as Lynn suggested above.

Sorry for the feeble attempt at irony. I upgraded to X1d, and tried to install DP 1.5, which had been laying around my disk, uninstalled, for some reason. Got a error message saying it couldn't install it because I already had the most recent version. Went to a page that purported to offer help, http://www.cakewalk.com/S...reader.aspx/2007013239 and am now totally confused. The DimPro I have that pretty much works, but has been getting weird is V1.2. The one that locks up Sonar when I load it is "x64". Does anyone know how I can get out of this mess? Thanks for any help.

Are you trying to install DimPro 64 from a "before X1" purchase of the product to X1 Producer?

IIRC you have to install the DimPro64 that came with Producer and not a previous purchased (separate) version.

That was my problem. I simply dumped my old DimPro and installed from my Producer DimPro.

If you're not on Producer, then I have no clue why you might have the problems you have.

BAPU: Cogent point. I upgraded to X1 from 8.5 Producer, but if I'm correct, it was a separate install. You think if I uninstall both DP and DP x64 and then install DP 1.5 that might do it?

I had stability issues with DX version of x64 DP.

This is what I did to make 1.5 patch install VST version which is very stable:

Confusing is right.  I hope CW can figure out a way to upgrade DP in the future without jumping through all these ridiculous hoops.

The "Clean Install" page from cakewalk help that Jonesy suggested looks like what I need. I just HATE going into the registry, but once more, here it is. I'll let you know how I do.

Got through the Registry swamp, and I'm installing DP 1.5. First message I got from the system was that several files I was installing already existed. I hope these are just left over from my earlier attempts to install 1.5. Another cup of coffee.

Sure enough! The 3 packs went in smooth as frog fur, despite some ambiguity in the installation instructions. Thanx again to all.
