1st note of midi clip not playing in Matrix?

I have a matrix set up where some of the clips have block chords created using the Staff view (drag and drop). When the clip is in a track, it plays fine... but in the Matrix, when you select the clip, the 1st note does not play. It doesn't seem to matter where in the clip the cell is triggered (in follow transport, for instance), the first note that is supposed to play simply doesn't. Not a HUGE deal in the clip with 8th note arpeggios... but a dealbreaker in the clips with the whole note block chords.... I have my midi buffers cranked to 1024 (default is 256, but I was getting dropouts at the END of the measures with it set to that). Not sure what else to do...
