..write failed disk full MSG - out of space -Help please

I was doing a live recording on my laptop with ver 8 and ran out of room on the HD. Sonar complained as expected. I ack the MSG, deleted some  previous projects and recorded the last 6 minutes of the show.  Since  I saw the .wav files in my audio directory from the first 80 minutes of the performance I thought I could just import them in to restore what I did write to the drive but no luck. This was a 16 track recording and 15 of the 16 tracks are the same size (~750MB)and 1 is slightly smaller (~735MB) I can import the one that's slightly smaller but not the remainder. When I attempt to import or drag into a project, sonar blinks for a second then nothing happens.  I tried to import into x1 and the same occurs.  Since these are 44/24 files windows media won't play them, so I can't check them that way. In the Audio directory I have what appears to be all the .WAV files, in the project directory I have a .cwp, an auto save version and 4 other .cwp with  extra extensions (not sure what they are).  Any thoughts? Those last 6 minutes sound super, sure wish I could save the entire performance.

You really need to add an extra drive, internal or external, and significantly reduce what's on your main drive.

    Then try again.

I've moved the data to my DAW (sop after a remote capture) so drive space is a non-issue.  I just forgot to slate my drive on the laptop before the remote capture, this has never been an issue in the many I have done - i just done fer-got :p It appears that the data is there but possibly just missing some meta data or indexing. Has anyone done any riff file analysis or repair?

What version of Windows? What is the exact message you got and are getting now. That's important information.

Did you try to record 80 minutes of music non-stop without saving?

Try playing the WAV files or converting them with MediaMonkey. I believe it can play 24/44 WAV files.

    Problem fixed. Solution:
Imported files as RAW into Audacity (freeware) which required some trial &error but it works. I had the best luck using 24bit(original bit depth), little-endian, off-set=1 (mostly). Export as .wav (I used signed PCM 16). Import into new Sonar session. Done ;)

Glad you found the, solution I was going to recommend using a wave editor to sort it out. It's hard recording your own band live on the fly if your one of the musicians. What I do is create about 24 CWP from a template. They are all armed and ready to hit "R". I do a save as with either song name ( if pre known) or a number. I then open all 24 and minimize to tray. Super fast to have a fresh project for each song. Every chance I get I save. Neg.= No time to drink beer between songs.
