TODAY 27 years ago **** July 13, 1985**** Live Aid 27th anniversary

I was in Floriday getting ready to come home from a fantastic family vacation.

When Mtv was good - played all day.

I remember the day well and the girl I met.. "my first teenage crush" We're still frineds today and she'll be at my wedding (maybe - she was invited anyway) -

What were you all doing ?

was it an event for you

i think this day is in the top 10 important days of rock/pop history

truly will be a date on music history exams in 100 years the same as I had to memorize Back and Bethoveen dates in my music history classes

I was sitting in this watching it on cable

We were having fun the way people in South Fla had fun back in 1985.

    :-S

I still can't get the mental scar Phil Collins left me with to expire from my sun burnt memory.

Phil Collins slayed Live Aid on two planets continence.

    With the same song.

WTF was up with that? He had enough time to learn another song, no?

Oh yeah, I forgot he played with Eric on Layla.

At the time, yep, huge event. The 'buzz' was amazing, I watched it all day then went to the pub and everyone was talking about it. Bought the DVD a couple of years ago...can't say I'll watch it again 'cos most of the performances were pretty poor (except Queen), but it doesn't detract from what was achieved.
