Sonar has totally stopped showing me rewire instruments! Totally not cool
Woe is me.. My Rewire instruments are grey'd out. Sonar X1 d producer expanded, 64 bit, on windows 7 home premium built by HP, with AMD A6-3620 quad core, Radeon HD Graphics, 6 gb ram, an art audio card going through the usb codec and driven by asio4all... I upped the page file to 11 gigs. I'm totally trying to Rewire Renoise 2.8 64 bit. Was working perfectly, till I decided to do some registry tweaking... I defragged the registry, after running one of them, "clean your registry programs." I just tried to reinstall the d patch for Producer Expanded... Epic fail, if I do say so myself... What do you guys reckon? ** I'm like, already in the process of a complete uninstall-reinstall but please feel free to leave thoughts for future reference... ** Edit again = Rewire still gone :-( Also.. Does anybody know, how you can access the X1 C producer expanded, if you don't have a DL link in your store account! Ouch, this sucks.. I wonder where Rewire went??????

Good thing you backed up your registry before messing with it? You should always do that. If not then you should do a Windows Restore back to a time before you changed the registry. I don't use registry cleaners anymore. They cause more problems than they fix.

And of course you backed up the registry so you could revert in case something went wrong.

It would seem that a system restore has remedied the problem. Also brought back Expanded... Programs used to clean registries, will be uninstalled from my machine later today No I did not make a registry backup. But thanks guys for the System Restore posts... Sometimes its a little hard to think things through when they are totally breaking like that...

use piriform ccleaner in future. thats pretty none destructive.. even then back up the registry when it offers that it'll only target orphaned entries = good. if you don't even know to back up the registry first you REALLY shouldn't be messing with it... if it's not broke DON'T FIX IT..

Fog if it's not broke DON'T FIX IT.. I had to download firefox for some work I was doing... For some odd reason, the company I was doing work for, has a website that I only likes firefoxs... Firefox installed that McAffee Stuff automatically... Mcaffee always screws me up, and I have a Subsciption to Norton running on this machine... What was basically going on with the two anti-virus' was slowing my music software to a crawl. So I uninstalled the Mcaffee part of Firefox... Then did a reg clean... So that's how all that started... I was actually having no trouble with that Particular Reg Cleaner until I installed Sonar... But you know.. The Sonar install is huge!!!!!! So obviously, it made several Registry changes. I should have argued the Fireworks install, and insisted on iExplore! Once Mcaffee Security and Norton were on the machine at the same time, that's really when everything began to fall apart. Mystic38 when they first came out I used some reg cleaners to ill affect, but have used nothing but regpair for the last several years on over half a dozen machines... without issue.. Some of then are definitely more destructive than others. I think I choose poorly...
