Please help me to fix a few things in the settings

Hi, I'm having a bit of trouble getting used to X1 because I have been using the old versions for years, I find this smart tool a little annoying but I'll cop that one and learn how to use it even though I liked the version in 8 more, same with the colour scheme, it feels a bit dull and hard to see for me now but I am embracing it with open arms! anyways, after a few weeks I am sorta used to it so whatever I'll deal with that as best I can, but what I need to know is this: 1. Highlighting, After clicking a clip so it is highlighted, how come I can't hold ctrl and select several clips to be highlighted using the mouse as well as the original clip(s) that I had previously highlighted? Now when I do this, he first clip or clips I clicked become unhighlighted, it is very frustrating 2. Copy paste, When I ctrl drag or copy paste stuff, more than half the time I do it the stuff I dragged or pasted doesn't line up with the grid, they drag over a little further so nothing lines up as it should. This wasn't a problem in any previous version I have used. Surely there is some stupid thing in the settings somewhere I have ticked or something. it's so frustrating, it is a wonder why the hell there is a ridiculous setting like this at all. If I wanted to drag things freehand I would unselect snap to grid, when I wanna line stuff up and snap to grid it shouldn't drag over a few milliseconds further or less than it should. After pasting and dragging clips and such, I have to go through and make sure everything is aligned to the grid manually and not a little bit over, wtf 3. Recording, I disabled the metronome but now it plays a few times before recording starts, can this be taken off? It is very annoying for me because I produce quiet and the metronome is sooooo loud. Is there any way to have the metronome disabled by default instead of me having to do it every new project I start? 4. Track view colours, In x1 trying to differentiate between audio and midi tracks for me is almost impossible because the colours are almost exactly the same. How can I change the colour of midi tracks to blue like they used to be? Also, muting tracks, I want to be able to see which tracks are muted and which arent alot easier, how can I make muted tracks appear more greyed out than they are by default? . Can I bring back the mono stereo button in the track channels in track view instead of doing it via the console view? Why would they take this out it is strange... 6. Last and probably least, muting clips hotkey is now k, how can I change it to q? I write alot of tunes and know my way around the old versions of Sonar pretty well. I have searched this stuff in the help files and settings but it is all just gobbledigook for me, if someone can help me out by telling me where to go to sort out these problems it would be a big help. Regards

I could hardly read your original post...  so I did some editing...  but you know this forum software is completely buggy.

Metronome options are in your preferences.  That I know! :-)

Snap settings appear on the control bar.  They seem to default to 1/16.  You right click, to bring a drop down box.  Try Snap 2 measure.  Sometimes it gets a little sticky, just gotta slide it right in there...  In your preferences there are more options for this.

Keyboard shortucts...  changing k 2 q...   also in your preferences.

As for question number 1, I think the answer is: "you gotta lasso with the smart tool."   Takes a minute to get used to...  "selecting seems to me like you are clicking each clip."  haha, I dunno, maybe if you hold down ctrl?  Is that how it worked in previous Sonar's?

Question 4?  I bet dollars to donuts, that is a matter of going into the preferences, and tweaking your color scheme...   Easy to do, if you have the patience for it.

Can I bring back the mono stereo button in the track channels in track view instead of doing it via the console view?

The answer to that is no. But the switch also appears in Track Inspector as well as Console.

Make sure you are clicking in the lower half of a clip. Other than that I'm not sure why you're seeing that behaviour.
     2. Copy paste, When I ctrl drag or copy paste stuff, more than half the time I do it the stuff I dragged or pasted doesn't line up with the grid, they drag over a little further so nothing lines up as it should.

Check your magnetic strength settings in preferences---->Snap and nudge. Change that to high or off for maximum snap.

     3. Recording, I disabled the metronome but now it plays a few times before recording starts, can this be taken off?
Switch it off in the Preferences--->metronome settings, set the count in value to zero.

    4. Track view colours, In x1 trying to differentiate between audio and midi tracks for me is almost impossible because the colours are almost exactly the same. How can I change the colour of midi tracks to blue like they used to be? If you mean the track font colours they are changeable in Preferences-->Customisation-->Colours. Track & Clip colours can be changed from the Track & Clip inspector respectively. Press I and then click on the relative tab or use Shift+ I, & Ctrl+Shift + I

The mono stereo button is in the track inspector, shown/hidden by pressing I. It can be floated and used like a right click menu on steroids.

     6. Last and probably least, muting clips hotkey is now k, how can I change it to q?

Preferences--->Customisation-->Keyboard shortcuts. You can load the legacy keyboard shortcuts from there or change them individually.

Thanks for sorting out the formatting Linear Phase. To the OP use an old version of Firefox. V5 or earlier or IE tab in the latest version or Chrome.
