I have just tested this with the sonitus compressor in Sonar 8.5 and X1, the sidechain only works in non-freeze mode.

How is it if you use Bounce-to-track?
SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre - Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc. The benefit of being a middle aged amateur is the low number of years of frustration ahead of you.

Try it with the vengeance transmitter mini vst (it's included with the vengeance sidechain) instead of the a "real" sonar-based sidechain. (I have not tried this yet, just speculation.)

"Bounce to Track" works only in real time. Transmitter is not checked. If the plug is ready to work without a transmitter based on the MIDI clock, and the fault lies with the SonarX1 it as what a person pays money losers? Cakewalk, like something you do it do it well! The X1 does not work too scrolling arrows samples in the browser - do not play. Cakewalk makes fun of the customers. This is not the first time on the part of Cakewalk's something that is underdeveloped. The man begins to have had enough. Cakewalk, take to work and do the amendment, because the competition will benefit the sooner you how to think.

You have to bounce the track including the sidechain input. I had to play around with this for a bit before I got it, but it does work. I don't think you can use freeze to achieve the sidechaining you are looking for.

Try doing your sidechaining tasks on a live buss (or busses) from the frozen track(s), maybe?

JM "Bounce to Track" works only in real time. No it doesn't. And if it did, how is it relevant to the question?

Plug in the X1 should work as it does at Studio One, or Cubase. I did not buy the plug and X1 now to complicate his life. I hope that Cakewalk would improve and it will all work well. I also hope that the patch will be free, because the action Cakewalk become ridiculous. Underdeveloped release updates and want to pay them for it. Funny.

Ok so when you want to bounce a track that has side chaining you need to select BOTH the track that's triggering the the side chain AND the target track. You can solo these tracks to be sure. I'm also pretty certain this works with freeze too. At least this is how it's done with the Sonitus:fx suite anyway. Hope this helps =)

Hi Jm, I have the same plugin and the problem began with the last patch update (sonar x1d). It broke the fast bounce from all the host tempo plugins like melodyne and vengeance multiband sideshain etc. It just works if you use realtime bounce, you can also check it when you freeze a track. Cakewalk has said that on the incoming patch it will be working as before. For this reason I downgraded to Sonar x1c...so keep in mind that the problem is just with the last patch. Daniel
