Def Leppard had Hysteria. Most probably know the bands story BUT something I didn't know and wonder if some folks here might... What was the brand of guitar amps used for it?

If I recall correctly, they used Rockmans created by Tom Scholtz.

Good memory Craig. All but one tune and that release had 7 hit tunes and it hit number one three different times in the US. Now if that doesn't tell a story...what does? All those conversations about how to mic, what equipment is best, analog or digital..etc...... Maybe it simply just comes down to one simple thing...the person. It sure seems to me if one is bad mouthing something like Guitar Rig 4...what are they really saying? Just got my first cup and had to see if anybody remembered....right on Craig!

They're actually planning re-recording all of their songs as the band's label (Uneversal Records) have no rights for digital release (since they signed it back in 1979....before the "digital age").

Boston was, by far, my favorite group when I was younger so I was a big fan of anything Tom Scholtz did. I used to have a few of the Rockman units in my rack (Distortion, EQ, Sustainer) as well as one of those very cool RockMan's which you wore on your hip (like a WalkMan) and wore headphones with. All of that said, you are definitely spot on! Great gear can always help, but it's definitely the person that makes all the difference. A few of us in this forum know a guy who plays Justin.TV gigs for fun (usually a five hour gig on Fridays) and he uses an iPad with Guitar Rig and sounds awesome.

I used it for practicing with headphones. Danny still has his. :) I traded mine and a Jap Strat for a fishing boat and gave the boat away to friend so he could take his daughters fishing...LOL. I somehow feel like I came out alright on that deal.

I think he should come out with a newer version. They were great for practicing. I'd still have mine except I foolishly left batteries in it which exploded and ruined it... Oh well. Here's a little rack that a complete Rockman freak fan made for a friend of mine when he was in the best Boston cover band in the Nation (of course they were also the worst since they were the only Boston cover band at that time - but they were really, really good!).
