Velocity Effect in Midi PRV

In Sonar 8.5PE I was able to select an entire line of Midi, i.e. all of the Hi-Hat, and then go to Edit and bring up the Velocity Effect where I had a preset I made to randomize the Velocity. Can I do this in Sonar X1 too... all I can find is where you apply the Velocity Effect to the entire Midi Track, no option to apply the Effect on a specific line of midi??

In the prv, select the notes you want to randomize.

Now go back to track view, right click the are you selected and choose

Process Fx > Midi Fx > Cakewalk > Velocity

I know right!? They removed it from it's place in the 'Process' the 'midi fx'. There is a trick I figured out though: Open piano roll view, click the hi-hat on the diatonic keyboard (like you always have), Then, in the track view, hover over the clip you just selected the hi hat from, Now Right click, You'll find Process Effect, Midi Fx, Select your random hi hat from velocity effect and Viola. It's a pain that they've made things harder to do this go around. Let's hope X2 comes back to reality.

A quicker way has always been to select the line you want in PRV by clicking the note in the keyboard, and then just hovering your cursor over one of those highlighted notes. When you see a series of short horizontal lines above the note, you can left click and move all the selected notes up or down at the same time. You can see exactly what velocities you're getting by looking in the Velocity pane. --AH, but you need to randomize too.-- If you have a keyboard, much slicker to play the line so you get authentic humanized velocity variation.
