Audio tracks in PRV

I'm sure I'm missing something here.
Track 1 in my project is audio and everything else is MIDI.
Working in PRV, I select events in track 2 (the top midi track) and want to paste to track 3... so I copy from track 2, hit ctrl/alt/v and select to be pasted into track 3 but it's actually pasted into track 4.
Apparently it doesn't take into consideration the audio track....fair enough but how does one go about this without doing the math...or is there a way to have the given name of the track show up when doing this?
Thanks very much,
Randy

It should work like you're doing it - I've not seen it do this except for.........Simple Instrument tracks.

Are you using them in your project?

if so, split them down to separate Midi/Audio and try again

Yes they're all simple inst tracks...so splitting them is the only way?
and is there really no way to see their given names?
    Thanks Jonesy,
    Randy
