rain,rain,rain...

Hi all,

pretty lousy summer here in the Netherlands at the moment. Far to chilly for July and
rain,rain,rain...
to prevent from getting to depressed, I've tried to squeeze a bit of sunshine out of Sonar over the weekend.
This came out of it:   http://soundcloud.com/user9149108/summernl2012-testmix-1

Any comments are most welcome!
Have a great summer!

Kind regards
Daniel

That was indeed a ray of sunshine for you.  Here in Kansas City, where it's in the 100s, it's a breath of fresh air.  I love the guitar through all its evolutions.  Stay dry, my friend.

I thought it was pretty good. I like that there were changes throughout the song to keep the listeners interest.

Very nicely done. Great guitar and nice changes throughout. Very nice instrumentation and production. Great piece for sure. Great dynamics and epic sound on the lead guitar. Nice work. Peace be with you. Blessings, John

I loved it!  Started out like Marc Antoine (who I like) and evolved into its own beast.  I can be a bit picky about lead guitar work, but I really like your style there.

Finish it and get it on a CD so I can buy it! LOL.

    Hello Mr. Kaushal,
never in my wildest dreams I would have expected my music to be heard in India. I feel honoured.
Taking a song like your "Kaisa Rasta" (AN ABSOLUTE BEAUTY!!!) of which I don't understand a single word, and my little humble piece of music which has no words at all, shows what music can do:
Connecting poeple from all over the world, no matter what languagegroup, nationality, race, religion, ect...

...and it proves once again: musicians are the true ambassadors of the world!
                                                           there is hope

    Kind Regards,
    Daniel

We have had the same rain problem here in sunny (?) Florida.  About 6.5 inches (the U.S. is still not on the metric system) in the last day.  The sun is supposed to come out tommorrow and I am looking forward to that.
This is a terrific number.  Great production, great guitar work, and -as stated in the posts above- really nice changes.
    Nice one!!

Nice, understand the rain thing its wet here in the UK too.

There is a slight sense of melancholy in the guitar which just adds that edge to the whole sound.  Nicely done all round.

    Thanks for sharing.

Excellent choice of textures and tones. Your playing is brilliant...subtle, yet strong when it needs to be. The electric guitar that you introduce at 2:14 is  a welcome addition as well as the 60's beach style guitar. All of them sound great! Thank God for the rain!

    Very nice.

Maybe it's just me but the left percussion seems to far to the left.

Very good production. And the piece is very nice.

    Hi Bapu,

    Thanx for your feedback!
I know what you mean and You're right. I'm a little obsessed with L-C-R panning at the moment, I just think it frees up so much space for the lead intrument or vocal. I guess I overdid it a little here. I have to learn now how to position things a little bit smarter within in the stereofield.
It took me quite a long time actually before I dared to post any of my stuff on this forum. Not until I got at least some of the basic mixing rules down. I feel I'm slowly getting a little bit closer, but...
...still so much to learn : )

    best regards,
    Daniel
