Recording Vocals In X1

Hi
Still learning..I have some muusic loops down and I thought I would record some vocal.. I have recorded my vocals yet when I play it back I can only hear the vocal from one monitor speaker??  Both sides in my headphones?? Music loops from both monitors?
I must be doing somehting wrong.
I plug my mic into V studio 100. 
Any help appreciated...

    set the mic input up to either the right OR the left input NOT stereo.

    The problem is you are recording a mono source (microphone) to a stereo track therefore the signal is being routed to one side of the stereo field. Before you record click on the Input select and choose a mono source, left or right depending on which side is getting the input signal. You likely need to read the help file and look up the "Interleave" button and the section called Changing Track Settings. That should help you understand the Input and Output settings better so you can follow the other suggestions you will likely get. There is also a section called Signal Flow although you may find that a little complicated at first.

    You need to select a mono source for your Sonar's track input in the dropdown menu. You selected a stereo input and this is why you have your problem. Just select the correct input and youll be fine.

    But if you like the take you have, right mouse click on the vocal clip and use "convert to mono".

    Thanks to everyone for your help..Indeed I was trying to input the track in stereo..
    Input now in mono and hey presto it's magic...
