Timeline keeps stalling

Can somebody please explain to me why when I playback in my Sonar x1 pro does the timeline keep stalling. For exaple it will move on to the next marker & so on every two to three seconds & not every second. Also the volume equalizers on all the buses are moving very slowly out of sequence what can be coursing this?

Below are some snapshots of my set-up.

Press the Pause key - it toggles the real time graphics and slow mo - for less powerful system.

a jumpy time line is an indication that the system is struggling to keep everything working..... it sacrifices the less important things....like display, to ensure the music is played properly.

Looking at the pics for your driver setup I believe also explains a few things.

Looks like you are using the factory card in the computer with ASIO4ALL. That, I believe, is a big contributing factor. The factory card is not a good card to use but A4A makes it work. A4A is a wrapper that fools the factory card into thinking it can work with ASIO.... all that takes time and processing power.

I'll bet that if you were using a dedicated USB audio/midi interface and the real ASIO drivers, this problem would be solved. Something like M-Audio, Presonus, Focusrite, etc.... as the sound card/interface.

Just a hunch from seeing this over the many years I've been doing this music thing.

    +1 for tomixornot

Sure sounds like the pause button...that drove me crazy for a couple of days years back.
