DM-3200 and X1

I have had the opportunity to acquire an DM-3200 that was possibly to good to pass up. I am hiving trouble getting it to talk to X1 however. Sadly, Tascam support is still and always crappy beyond belief... and the forum has long since gone by the wayside. The Tascam documentation is for sonar 6 so it is hard to tell if I am installing properly or not. X1 is seeing the 3200 frm the midi standpoint but no control is happening. ie - move fader in one place does not move a fader in the other. When I load a new project the faders do not set accordingly, etc. The audio portion of X1 sees nothing. Does anyone here use the 3200 with X1 and if so could they please share a step-by-step of setting it up? Thanks, Mike
